A man has died after a pickup truck travelling on a forest service road near Craigellechie plunged down a steep embankment and became submerged in the Perry River early Sunday morning.
In a media statement, Sicamous RCMP Cpl. JR Lechky said police were notified of the incident on North Fork Forest Service Road Oct. 18 and responded along with search and rescue workers. They located the deceased man in the truck and extracted him from the vehicle.
RCMP and the BC Coroners Service continue to investigate. In a brief statement, Sicamous RCMP said they are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the incident.
Police are not releasing the name of the individual pending notification of next of kin.
