Every year, the Columbia Basin Trust Affected Areas funding program is an important source of funding for community groups pursuing a spectrum of projects.
This year, community members gathered at the Revelstoke Community Centre on April 2 for presentations. Since then, a committee has shortlisted the projects and added funding recommendations.
This year, 45 applicants asked for $686,245 in funding, but there was $389,056 available. This has meant many projects only received partial funding.
The committee recommendations will now go to Revelstoke city council for consideration at their April 9 meeting. Usually, council approves the committee’s recommendations.
