With the open house scheduled for Mar. 2, preliminary designs of the proposed upgrade to the busy Trans-Canada Highway intersection with Victoria Road have been released.

The intersection is notorious for congestion in the busy tourist months of summer and the new plans include roundabouts before the main intersection. One is north of the intersection at Laforme Boulevard and Fraser Drive and the other south on Victoria Road and Wright Street. The proposed plans also eliminate left turns out of the McDonald’s.
Significant landscaping changes are also proposed, including cutting off Bend Road with a cul-de-sac.
McElhanney Consulting Services have developed the plans and consultants will be available, along with city staff at the open house at the community centre at 7:30 p.m.
