Hosts of the first Revelstoke Fix It Fair on June 27 are calling it a success.
The event was organized by Laura Stovel and Agathe Bernard from the North Columbia Environmental Society’s Sustainable Living Committee.
People brought old kettles, blenders and lamps that had electrical issues to a temporary booth at Big Mountain Kitchen on Mackenzie Avenue. Many people brought knives that needed to get sharpened or clothes that had holes in them.
Tim Auger, former bike mechanics at Flowt, was even there to fix bikes! Many volunteers shared multiple fix-it talents!
The NCES is hoping to facilitate this event every season and help reduce waste in the community.
